How to proudce a carbon fiber tube/different technology of producing carbon fiber tubing

There are 5 ways to produce carbon fiber tubing.

1. Roll wrapped process. This process Use carbon fiber prepreg as raw material, Roll wrapped the carbon fiber prepreg into a mould, Heated by curing furnace. Then seperate the carbon fiber tube and mould, Become a carbon fiber tube. People can make surface layer 3K plain/3K twill on the carbon fiber tube to make it beautiful. This process suit for small/middle diameter carbon fiber tubes, If big diameter/longer length carbon fiber tube, Filament winding process are more suitable.
2. Filament winding process. This process use carbon fiber as raw material, soak epoxy resin, The carbon fiber and epoxy resin together filament into a mould, Heated by curing furnace. Then seperate the carbon fiber tube and mould, Become a carbon fiber tube. This process is seamless carbon fiber tube. Filament winding process can adjust carbon fiber’s angle to suit outer force from different angle. This process suit for big diameter/longer tube(for example 300mm diameter, or 5m length even longer) .
3. Pultrusion process. Pultrusion converts reinforced carbon fibers and liquid resin into a carbon fiber reinforced Plastic(CFRP) via a pulling and extrusion principles.The carbon fibers are saturated by being pulled & extruded through a resin bath, Pull through a heated steel die .Then shaped into a round tube(also can be shaped different shape,For example square tube, solid rod etc) . The advantage of pultrusion process is that it produces a continuous,Unidirectional length of tubes/rods that can be cut different size after curing. Pultrusion process carbon fiber tube have high output, So it price is lower than roll wrapped /filament winding carbon fiber tubes. The disadvantage of pultrusion is pultrusion make all carbon fiber have only one direction--Length direction 0°. It make the carbon fiber tube have good tension in length direction. But easy split when compression or torsion. It make us considering another process-pull winding.

4.Pull-winding process Pull-winding carbon fiber tube have advantage of pultrusion. It also increased different angle of carbon fiber,for example +/-45°, +/-70° etc according to clients request, So that it can increase carbon fiber tube's good reistant for torsion /compression.

Pull-winding carbon fiber tube also have high output, It price is lower than roll wrapped/filament winding carbon fiber tubes.

5. Moulded/vacuum pressure process.

The moulded/vacuum pressure process both use carbon fiber prepreg as raw material, Design different shapes through layering.

This process suit for carbon fiber profiled products. For example a carbon fiber bent tube/square tube/rectangular tube etc.

Mould process carbon fiber tube, There are 2 pc moulds to work together, 1 pc outer mould+ 1 pc inner mould, The middle is carbon fiber square tube/rectangular tube.

Heated by curing furnace. Then seperate the carbon fiber tube and mould, Become a carbon fiber tube. Mouldedcarbon fiber tube- it inside and outside very flat.

Vacuum pressure process carbon fiber tube. There are 1 pc outer mould, Inside isplastic bag, after Pressure heating become carbon fiber tube. The vacuum pressure process carbon fiber tube inside very rough,but surface very flat & smooth.It suit for the situation not have much request for inside.
